Abstract

The radiolytic hydrogen yield GH2 from deaerated aqueous solutions of metal ions has been investigated. In Ni2+, Co2+ and Zn2+ solutions GH2 was constant and no solute concentration effect was observed. In Cd2+, Cu2+, Pb2+ and acidic Hg2+ solutions GH2 decreased with increasing solute concentration and the order of the efficiency of the metal ions in reducing the hydrogen yields is Cd2+
