Abstract

My essay concerns the biographical and intellectual relationship between Arendt and Husserl that so far has not been analyzed. We do not even know the exact year in which Arendt heard Husserl's lessons in Freiburg. More important is to examine the idea that Arendt had of Husserlian phenomenology as a new classicism: intentionality recognizes the reality and independence of the intentional object and this principle could make possible again for human beings to feel themselves at home in the world.
