Abstract

In this article the author explains his reasoning for incorporating zombies as an aspect of his book "Theories of International Politics and Zombies." He argues that shaping the premise of the book around the international response to a zombie outbreak provides for an enlightening discussion of topics related to international politics and describes how this approach to the field could translate well to the college classroom and encourage student engagement with the subject matter. He also explores reasons he was urged by his book editor to use a serious tone in his writing and chronicles his research on background knowledge about zombies in popular books, movies, and television shows.
