Abstract

A Team Leadership Program (TLP) was started in April, 1993. The primary thrust of that effort was to improve the organization's effectiveness through increased teamwork leading to Self-Managed Work Teams. After a year and a half, considerable progress has been achieved. Employee attitudes have shown significant improvement in two departments, and financial returns of over 1,000 percent have been achieved. This paper describes the process and the results with implications for generalization to other companies.
