Abstract

The article discusses the significant role played by social networking, blogging, online video, and Internet activism in the presidential elections in the U.S. in 2012. It notes that the impact of the Internet has not been limited to presidential election citing that in 2006, Democrats swept to a landslide victory as progressive online activists created powerful tools for fundraising. MDG Advertising also attests the important role played by social media in the 2008 presidential elections.
