Abstract

There are obvious benefits to adopting an EBP nursing education paradigm. Research utilization has always been incorporated into the education environment, and its tenets remain a cornerstone of learning for students and faculty. Evidence-based nursing capitalizes on RU and extends it to making clinical decisions about a particular patient at a particular point in time. The strength of both comes from a prepared faculty with expertise to guide students as they grow in their nursing knowledge and develop the specific skills to implement EBN as graduates. The greatest faculty responsibility is to mentor students in ways that cause them to embrace the value of research in practice.
