Abstract

The author reflects on the significance of electronic-books (e-books) in libraries in the U.S. It states that the Department of Education has mandated the accessibility of e-books to all required classroom devices in all educational systems. Meanwhile, the Department of Education requires colleges and universities to refrain from requiring the use of electronic book reader as long as the device remains inaccessible to individuals who are blind or have low vision.
