Abstract

Every company has multiple improvement initiatives. But without the focused attention and strong support of senior managers in the company, any major improvement effort will fail. Supply chain improvement is no exception. A survey is conducted with respondents asked to describe how much attention their senior managers are giving to supply chain improvement. For 26 percent of the companies, supply chain improvement is a major initiative or the single most critical initiative in the company. For 43 percent of the companies, supply chain improvements is one of many initiatives. About 30 percent barely recognize supply chain improvement as an opportunity or have begun only minor initiatives.
