Abstract

A method of the expansion in the space spectrum in the Rayleigh-Gans approximation has been used to analyze light scattering by spheroids (both with hard boundaries and Gaussian). The plots of the scattering phase function (indicatrix) are shown including cases when the spheroid axis does not coincide with the incident direction. The results obtained are interpreted qualitatively. Also presented are the results of computations of the normalized scattering cross sections. © 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
