Abstract

The author offers opinions on intellectual property laws and how they affect the mass media industry. Most advertisements employ features of previously created works because those are easier for consumers to grasp. Copyright laws increasingly serve the interests of large corporations rather than creative artists. Two films on the issue are recommended, a documentary "Good Copy Bad Copy," and "A Fair(y) Use Tale," a cartoon created by Bucknell professor Eric Faden from past works from Disney.
