More than just a techie.

Abstract

An interview with Dame Wendy Hall, computer science professor at the University of Southampton, is presented. Hall talks about her vision of a semantic web, machines communicating with other machines and computers having the capability to analyze data. She also explains the benefit of using uniform resource identifiers (URI) and the Resource Description Framework (RDF) as a standard format. Hall laments the absence of women in information technology (IT) and expresses hope that more women will emerge in leadership roles in IT.
