Abstract

The article discusses the emotional and physiological effect of music. According to a study, music tempo affects heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure and can be manipulated to encourage arousal and relaxation. Researchers believe that music may be a valuable tool for promoting relaxation and recovery in people with cardiovascular disease. Another study revealed that rhythmic drumming can induce a trancelike state by causing changes in brain wave frequency.
