Abstract

The paper tends to explain nucleation behavior of eutectic systems taking into account only the atomic structures of solid-liquid and solid-solid interfaces. It is likely that whether nucleation on the faceted or non-faceted crystal is determined by whether the surface roughness parameter δ is greater than or less than the critical value. © 1989.
