Abstract

The effect of the compn. of molten silicate glasses contg. Al2O3 0.50-3.00, MgO 2.50-4.50, CaO 7.00-8.50, K2O 0.00-0.50, Na2O 13.00-16.00, and Fe2O3 0.05-0.50 wt. % on the phys. properties, e.g., sp. elec. cond., thermal radiation cond., time of melting, temp. dependence of viscosity, transformation temp., surface tension, molten glass d., chem. resistivity, liquidus temp., and temps. of max. crystn. and max. nucleation rates, was studied. Assuming the additivity of the property dependence on chem. compn., linear coeffs. (Ai) were detd. for the properties in a math. relation between the wt. fraction of an oxide and the phys. properties.
