Abstract

Powd. dry leaves of the Andean plant, frailejon (Espeletia hartwegiana), extd. with C6H6 and chromatographed over silica gel showed the presence of (-)-kaur-9(11),16-dien-19-oic acid. A mixt. of aliphatic alcs. was also isolated. [on SciFinder(R)]
