Abstract

The unique monomer hybrid wet-spinning process was utilized to prep. the polybenzoxazine fiber which is composed of novel class of Phenolic thermoset polymer. This fiber has excellent thermal stability as well as a unique microporous structure and a typical sheath-core structure. Also, it is shown that polyBAa15/PAN hybrid fiber has a high char yield of 47% which is higher than the sum of each component's char yield. [on SciFinder(R)]
