Abstract

A complete set of experimentally derived climate-relevant radiative parameters of mineral dust from a measurement campaign made in Senegal are presented and applied to estimate the shortwave radiative forcing by the desert aerosol. The experimental results are used for the validation of existing aerosol models for mineral dust.
