Abstract

This survey paper describes recent progress in astrodynamics, concerning applications as well as theoretical studies. Among applications are Halley's Comet intercept, Voyager encounter with the planet Uranus and the recovery of satellites by Space Shuttle crews. Theoretical achievements are listed, which are essentially based on the papers presented at the Astrodynamics Symposia of the last two IAF Congresses. Natural trajectories, optimal trajectories, attitude motion and navigation, positioning and guidance, are successively considered. An extensive list of references is given. © 1988.
