Abstract

In the units I have worked in I have found that setting up a research and development framework has helped to ensure that junior doctors gain skills in audit, research, teaching, and presentation over a six month period. It has also meant that in the department we have all the relevant data collated for royal college visits, data for record of in-training assessment ({RITA}) of junior doctors, and data for appraisal forms for all doctors in the department.
