Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed at the wrist, causing neuropathic pain. The aim of the present study was treatment of CTS until cure, improvement or worsening. The methodology used was detailed clinical history-taking with examination based mainly on Phalen's sign and complementary tests such as radiographs of both wrists and electromyography. In our opinion, this method is a good alternative to other treatments, including surgery, and carries no risk of iatrogeny. © 2011 Elsevier España, S.L.
