Abstract

This chapter illustrates how to work with college students who are adjusting to the demands of independent academic life. College students in general tend to have difficulties with time management and organization, and this can be exacerbated for students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who also have executive functioning (EF) deficits. In addition, many younger students with ADHD have relied heavily on their parents to keep them structured and on task, and they may struggle further without this help.
