Abstract

The article focuses on a study which states that released offenders from jails may return to criminal behavior if they do not find employment upon their release. It mentions the study uses data from 6,561 released offenders from five selected counties of the U.S. state Indiana in 2005. It reports that for analysis the data related to the employment of the offenders studied for five years. The study found that offenders must overcome numerous social and legal barriers while seeking employment.
