Abstract

To put the Hybrid Automatic Voltage Control (HAVC) Theory into practice, this paper designs and implements the HAVC System, showing the advantage of two fundamental concepts, which are "hierarchical" and "event-driven". Firstly, this paper designs the software architecture and flow chart, based on the principle of expandability, modularity and standardization. Then, it specifies the internal modules and gives out necessary detailed design. To integrate into the existing Automatic Dispatch System and make the best of it, the system configuration scheme is proposed, with standard and recommended data interface and command interface, which will ensure the practicability and reliability of the HAVC System. Based on the above work, a HAVC System has been set up in the State Key Lab of Power Systems of Tsinghua University. With the field data of Northeast China Power Grid, the HAVC system has carried out the simulation examinations. The results have verified the usability and effectiveness of this HAVC System. © 2006 IEEE.
