Abstract

the intriguing possibility that the enhanced antipsychotic efficacy of clozapine is also based in part on its ability to modulate DA [dopamine] release will be discussed in detail / the importance of clozapine as a serotonin (5HT) antagonist and its ability to increase 5HT release will be emphasized and the importance of the relationship between 5HT[subscript]2 and D[subscript]2 antagonism considered recent multicenter trials have shown that clozapine may be a more effective antipsychotic agent than chlorpromazine in chronic schizophrenic patients with TD [tardive dyskinesia] (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved).
