Abstract

The article discusses the interrelationship of transactional analysis and gestalt psychology. Both practices attempt to view man in a holistic, integrated framework. They also emphasize the need for responsibility for self through awareness of experience and adaptability. In this sense transactional analysis and gestalt psychology fit into a theory coined by Abraham Maslow as the "Third Force." This study of man is also known as the "Human Potentiality Movement." It explores the positive aspects of man and analyzes ways of growth, achievement, and development of untapped resources.
