Abstract

Crystals of (CH 3 NH 3 ·H 2 O)PbI 3 spontaneously transform to the black (CH 3 NH 3)PbI 3 perovskite as a porous microcrystalline solid. The dihydrate (CH 3 NH 3) 4 PbI 6 ·2H 2 O) requires more forcing conditions to produce (CH 3 NH 3)PbI 3.
