Abstract

Summary: This is an exploratory study of the impact of maternal incarceration on children and adolescents. While some information is available from other countries, little is known in Canada about the numbers or characteristics of Canadian children who are affected by parental incarceration. The goal here is to review available research, and undergo some preliminary data collection, to inform the next steps in research and program development.
