In terms of the number of students involved, this is one of the largest surveys in modern pedagogy. Such a significant geographical and quantitative coverage allows us to speak about the representativeness of the results obtained. The compilation of the survey form was based on the methodology of I.V. Kozhanov. Results. It was revealed that there are areas responsible for the formation of civic identity, where at the moment there have been significant successes in terms of the involvement of schoolchildren: watching historical films and TV series; visiting school and regional museums; family history and local history. But, at the same time, there are problem areas: reading additional literature; acquaintance with historical educational content on the web; communication on historical topics with family or friends; acquaintance with expositions of museums and exhibitions in Moscow; the formation of a sense of pride in the historical past of Russia. Findings. A survey of students in Russian schools showed that there are areas responsible for the formation of civic identity, where serious progress has been achieved so far in terms of the involvement of schoolchildren: watching historical films and TV series; visiting school and regional museums; family history and local history.
