Abstract

The main goal of this chapter is to investigate the effects of the real grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems on the distribution network. The networks used in previous chapters were ideal, so the impacts of renewable energy sources (RES) on improving the technical aspects of those networks were not well demonstrated. Therefore, a real test system, which is part of the East Azerbaijan distribution network in Iran, has been used to overcome this issue. The introduced tools in previous chapters have been used to perform the required analyses for evaluating the performance of the power grid in the presence of the real grid-connected PV systems. In this chapter, all the required steps to conduct a comprehensive technical study for grid-connected renewable energy systems are fully described.
