Abstract

Data obtained in relatively large scale laboratory equipment have been compared with a number of existing entrainment correlations to evaluate their degrees of effectiveness and apparent shortcomings. An analogy to vapour/liquid equilibrium and the concept of a particulate vapour pressure is suggested as one possible route which might lead to a more fundamental approach in correlating particle entrainment.(A)
