Abstract

The extensive demand on smart city management has induced the collaborative work of private and government sectors in the field of information and communication technologies for the development of smart city projects and finds several innovative alternatives to challenges and supplemental opportunities. The characterization of a smart city, development possibilities, and setbacks has been identified by many scholars. The main objective of this paper is to explain state-of-the-art IoT technology and developments and various IoT dimensions in the development of smart cities.
