Abstract

Pre-teenagers surf on Internet with happiness. They are as enthusiastic as their parents are worried. parents cause family education to the media to fail since they don't really know what practices they should encourage. parental mediation's quality also depends of public authority's devices. pre-teenagers are worried because of the parents but often alone when they have to make a choice. parents' worry creates and strengthens irrational beliefs since it is not based on a complete understanding of numerical environments. This article is based on the results of a survey carried out in 2007 on 1142 pupils - from 5th year in primary school and 1st year in high school - and 800 parents from 5 different regions. It is completed by results of surveys about young people and Internet carried out since 2007.
