Abstract

Thyroid nodules are often found incidentally on exam or during imaging of the neck. This teaching script leads the reader through a systematic approach to the evaluation of incidental thyroid nodules, including the importance of physical exam and thyroid function testing. This chapter also reviews appropriate thyroid imaging modalities and general indications for fine-needle aspiration.
