Abstract

A scalable information delivery services like data broadcasting scheme is definitely of great interest especially to deal with the exponential increase of mobile users. In this paper, we present Global Indexing with data placement scheme for multi broadcast channels environment, which aims to minimize query access time, tuning time and power consumption. This scheme considers index and data allocation over separate broadcast channel. Moreover, it concerns with single and multiple data items request. A simulation model is developed to analyze the performance of the proposed scheme. We compare the proposed scheme with conventional scheme. It is found that the proposed scheme provides substantially better performances in every aspect of evaluation. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2005.
