Abstract

Mineral deposits are natural occurrences of valuable elements in the earth's crust in a higher concentration than the average for those elements. They are found in rock series that have specific characteristics for each individual deposit type. Mineral deposits are unevenly distributed around the earth. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
