Abstract

A new species of the spider genus Aculepeira (Araneidae) is described on the basis of the materials obtained from Mt. Higashinupukaushinupuri, Hokkaido, Japan. The species closely resembles Aculepeira carbonarioides (Keyserling, 1892), but can be distinguished by the shape of the male palp. The genus is new to the Japanese fauna. © 1994, Arachnological Society of Japan. All rights reserved.
