Abstract

The chapter is an attempt to pay tribute to an exemplary scholar and to review Ben-David’s formation and intellectual positions, in the context of his own environment and on the basis of the spectrum of contributions collated in this anthology. In this Epilogue Ben-David’s professional development, from that of a young Hungarian refugee and immigrant to Palestine to that of a preeminent scholar of science and higher education, is sketched, and aspects within Ben-David’s system of thinking are emphasized which might form a base on which to build.
