Abstract

Pelvic floor dysfunction (encompassing genital prolapse, urinary, and fecal incontinence) is very common but our epidemiological studies are poor. Not only is our literature on prevalence and incidence inadequate, but we have not come to a universal consensus on assessment of the pelvic floor. © 2006 Springer-Verlag London Limited.
