Abstract

This study is the floristic survey for the Styracaceae recorded in the cangas of the Serra dos Carajás, Pará state, bringing detailed descriptions, illustrations, and morphological comments for the species. Two species of Styrax were recorded: S. griseus and S. pohlii. Styrax griseus was described based on material collected in the Serra dos Carajás, but is not endemic to the area. Styrax pohlii is widely distributed throughout the Northern portion of South America.
