Abstract

A process-oriented simulation model for common cause failures has been suggested. As a step to facilitate the model's application to practical problems an improved approach to parameter estimation has been developed. The estimation procedure is tested against simulated CCF failure data generated with the same model. Results are presented of application of the POS model to German CCF benchmark exercises carried out earlier. © 2005 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
