Abstract

In this paper, the reliability of DC–DC Luo converter is analyzed for its failure rate by considering the quality of the components and the internal parameter variation, as power electronics components are always prone to failure. Methods of improving the reliability of converter are discussed. By using redundancy technique, reliability is improved and it is proved mathematically. The results can be applied to basic as well as improved converters. The results are verified using reliability block diagram approach and markov analysis by using SHARPE tool.
