Abstract

This paper presents a novel salient point detection method for 3D mesh surface, and introduces a space scale-rotation invariant local feature descriptor to perform reliable matching between objects. We can find out similar geometry features by matching up the local feature descriptors in different objects by nearest neighbor principle. Furthermore, we demonstrate the effectiveness and discuss the potential application of the proposed method. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
