Abstract

(create) In this chapter, the authors examine current social issues regarding men and boys noting that in spite of the fact that men hold the majority of economic and political power in the world, there is a recent surge in emphasis on men's issues. The authors examine social research on masculinity and offer a critique on the definition of masculinity. They conclude with an examination of the uses of social research on masculinities.
