Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify resilience factors in the face of the vulnerability on tourist companies and destinations. This considers a proposal to adapt the Delphi method, allowing to determine the relevance of experts in terms of resilience applied to tourism. Through a literature review on the subject was possible to identifying 64 relevant factors for assessing resilience in relation to tourism activities. These factors were grouped in economic, social, institutional, infrastructure, environmental and technological. The adaptation made to the Delphi method considered a prior validation stage in which seven individuals participated in an assessment of the mentioned grouped factors. As a result, large part of the participants qualified as ‘experts’; therefore, they were considered in the next stage on the selection of tourism-resilience factors. Although the adapted method resulted useful, it is necessary to add statistical weights so that the coefficient of argumentation has a more significant impact on the coefficient of competence.
