Abstract

Abstract: In large systems of care, the identification and treatment of suicide risk can be inconsistent and ineffective in the absence of a systemic approach to suicide prevention. The Zero Suicide framework provides a model for system-wide transformation of suicide care by providing best practice strategies and tools. This chapter describes the process of implementing Zero Suicide in a large pediatric hospital starting within a Behavioral Health service line. Gaps and future steps as well as policy implications are discussed.
