Abstract

This work was carried out in order to examine the legitimacy of use and to compare ongoing cost of cloud based (IaaS) and classic hosting for three types of web applications. With a plethora of various cloud providers, increased reliability and plummeting down daily ongoing cost – Infrastructure as a Service seems to be a natural successor of traditional hosting for even fairly simple web applications. However, there was unclear until now, how IaaS compares to a traditional hosting in terms of cost-effectiveness. In that article three different types of sites were used to provide a clear answer which type of hosting to use to justify ongoing cost and the same time assure an optimal performance of a certain types of web applications.
