Abstract

During the 60s the major automobile manufacturers invested about $500 million in data processing systems, the financial worth of which has been proven in accounting, production and inventory control areas. Mr. Long felt that the next decade should bring a proportionately greater emphasis on computer aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) systems development.
