Translational Ayurveda

Abstract

Translational Ayurveda, in tune to the translational science, calls for an urgent assembly of translational research and translational effectiveness research to extend the benefits of its accumulated knowledge and research to its ultimate users. On the basis of end points desired to be delivered, such translational research may be of diverse nature looking at diverse needs of the society. Such translation therefore can be from the perspectives of physicians asking help in disease diagnosis, of patients asking solutions to their individual set of problems, of industry looking at realistic solutions of producing bulk quantity of formulations to meet the demands without compromising the quality standards, of environmentalists for preserving the nature yet fulfilling the human needs essentially being catered from nature, etc. Ayurvedic translational science is however little unique comparing to the conventional translational science where researches are generated at laboratories and then being executed upon human beings. Ayurvedic translational research essentially involves the revalidation of existing knowledge in a form which can find a ready application of such knowledge for patient welfare. On the other side, the inferences being generated in the field in the form of best practices also required to be assembled in the form of science to ease their wider acceptance and application
