Abstract

Alluvial and lacustrine deposits had been formed in semi-arid conditions on the southeastern flank of West Siberian sedimentation basin in the Early Cretaceous. The tectonic uplift during the Quaternary and the erosional activity exposed the perfect outcrops of the Mesozoic deposits. The natural 80-meter high and 1 km long outcrops show the history of continental basin development is presented through the sedimentological features. It demonstrates the changes of the environments from alluvial and lacustrine-deltaic to lacustrine along the area and section.
