Abstract

The three-layered neuronal structure of the cerebellar cortex is reflected in the architectonics of the neuroglia. Each layer has a different population of neuroglial cell types, and one type, the Golgi epithelial cell, is peculiar to the cerebellar cortex, although it resembles the Müller cells of the retina and certain ependymal cells in the spinal cord and in the floor of the third ventricle.
